President of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences: Achieving a Global Ranking in Times Higher Education is the Result of Collective Efforts

According to the university’s public relations office (Webda), the executive board meeting of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences (LUMS) was held this morning, presided over by Dr. Delfan, with the participation of university officials at the Central Administration Hall.

Advancement of the University

In this meeting, Dr. Delfan highlighted LUMS' recent achievement in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, placing within the 601-800 category. He stated that this ranking is a testament to the collective efforts of the university community and reflects the institution’s academic and research progress on a global scale.

Emphasizing the university’s advancements in various fields, Dr. Delfan noted: "With additional financial resources and increased funding, we could further improve our performance and enhance the university’s international standing."

Internationalization of the University

Dr. Delfan underscored the importance of internationalization and emphasized that expanding international student admissions requires the completion of the Nayesh Hospital in Khorramabad, which will provide essential clinical training facilities for medical students.

Efforts to Attract International Students

The President of LUMS stressed the need to diversify the university’s international student base, stating: "We must expand our student recruitment beyond Pakistan and attract students from a wider range of countries."

Addressing the topic of medical tourism, Dr. Delfan highlighted the university’s initiatives in this area, stating: "Significant progress has been made in the field of medical tourism at LUMS. Given Lorestan’s rich historical and natural attractions, strengthening the health tourism sector can play a crucial role in the province’s development."
