In 1992, the Institute commenced its operation by obtaining the necessary permits in the fields of anesthesiology, surgery, and laboratory sciences in Khorramabad. In 1994, admission was also granted to daily sector students. In 2005, a course for medical coding and billing was offered and a year later, an associate degree program for prehospital emergency care was added to the other programs at the Institute. The Institute won first place among third grade medical universities in the category of top universities in the country in 2004, and a year later, it obtained ranked fifth. In 2008, daily BS programs in anesthesiology and surgical technology started their operation. In 07/20/2008, the Institute was promoted and became the School of Allied Medical Sciences. In 2009, students were admitted for bachelor programs in the fields of health information technology and radiology technology. In 2017, courses in laboratory sciences were transferred from School of Medicine to the School of Allied Medical Sciences. At present, the School admits students in surgical technology, anesthesiology and laboratory sciences for BS programs (in both continuous and discontinued programs), in health information technology and radiology technology for BS programs, and finally in the field of prehospital medical care for both associate degree and discontinued BS programs.
