Vice-Dean for Research: Dr. Sara Mohammadi Sepahvand, assistant professor of restorative dentistry
Economic, social, cultural and industrial advancements are pivotal to the development of every country. Moreover, new scientific discoveries and innovations depend on conducting scientific researches. Hence, research is of high significance in every field of study. Vice-Dean for Research has a central role in policy making concerning research, and guiding as well supervising the financial, technical and bureaucratic issues with regard to the implementation of research projects. The responsibilities of Vice-Dean for Research include the following:
- Contributing to the policy making associated with research in line with the research strategy and priorities approved by of LUMS
- Investigating and proposing new suggestions to motivate faculty members conduct research projects
- Examining and approving the research projects by research councils of the departments
- Encouraging the implementation of intergroup research projects and contributing to the coordination of their activities
- Providing the researchers with the equipment required to carry out their research projects
- Encouraging the researchers to present the findings of their studies to research institutes to utilize these findings in various scientific realms
- Preparing the annual report of the research activities and projects carried out at the School of Dentistry
