Duties and Responsibilities:

The Office of the Vice Dean for Education is responsible for the academic planning, coordination, and quality assurance of all educational activities within the faculty. Under the leadership of the Vice Dean for Education, the office ensures that teaching, curriculum design, and learning environments meet the highest academic standards and support student success at all levels.

1. Educational Planning and Academic Management

  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs
  • Ensuring alignment of curricula with national and international standards
  • Coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate educational processes
  • Monitoring academic calendars, scheduling, and instructional workflows

2. Curriculum Development and Quality Improvement

  • Leading curriculum revision based on scientific updates and healthcare needs
  • Supporting the integration of innovative teaching and assessment methods
  • Ensuring consistency between theoretical instruction and clinical training
  • Facilitating continuous quality improvement of teaching and learning practices

3. Faculty Development and Academic Support

  • Supporting faculty members in adopting effective teaching strategies
  • Organizing educational workshops, training sessions, and pedagogical development
  • Promoting evidence-based education and academic scholarship
  • Encouraging educational research and innovation among faculty

4. Student Support and Academic Affairs

  • Overseeing academic guidance, advising processes, and student progression
  • Addressing academic challenges and providing solutions to support learners
  • Ensuring fairness, transparency, and consistency in student evaluations
  • Enhancing the learning experience and promoting student engagement

5. Coordination with the EDO and Clinical Skills Center

  • Supervising the activities of the Education Development Office (EDO)
    • supporting curriculum innovation
    • promoting faculty development
    • improving educational evaluation systems
  • Overseeing the Clinical Skills Center to ensure the quality of simulation-based and preclinical education

6. Clinical Education Oversight

  • Ensuring strong collaboration with affiliated teaching hospitals
  • Monitoring the quality and consistency of clinical placements
  • Supporting clinical instructors and aligning practice standards with academic expectations

7. Policy Development and Strategic Planning

  • Contributing to the faculty’s long-term educational strategies
  • Implementing policies that enhance academic quality and student outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with university regulations and accreditation standards

8. Evaluation, Monitoring, and Reporting

  • Monitoring key educational indicators and academic performance
  • Leading internal evaluation processes for programs and departments
  • Preparing reports and analyses for decision-making at faculty and university levels

9. Communication and Collaboration

  • Facilitating communication between faculty, departments, students, and university administration
  • Strengthening partnerships with hospitals, research centers, and academic units
  • Representing the faculty in educational committees and professional networks
