Overview

The Office of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Lorestan University of Medical Sciences (LUMS), serves as a cornerstone for advanced academic pursuit, clinical leadership, and transformative research.  Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Supervision and Policy Implementation

  • Collaborating closely with the Vice Dean for Education to ensure accurate supervision and effective implementation of graduate programs.
  • Reviewing and providing expert opinions on academic matters referred by the Dean or the Vice Dean for Education.
  • Monitoring and managing educational and research processes related to postgraduate students.
  • Revising and updating graduate regulations and guidelines through presentation and approval in the Graduate Studies Council.

Graduate Council Leadership

  • Organizing and actively participating in Graduate Studies Council meetings.
  • Following up on the implementation of decisions approved by the Council.
  • Facilitating academic consultation meetings with faculty members and graduate students regarding thesis-related matters.

Thesis Administration and Oversight

  • Supervising and managing all administrative and academic processes related to graduate theses in accordance with institutional regulations.
  • Monitoring all stages of thesis progression, from proposal defense to final defense.
  • Planning and conducting thesis-related sessions and defense meetings.
  • Reviewing and following up on quarterly thesis progress reports.
  • Approving and confirming proposed thesis supervisors.
  • Appointing and approving thesis examiners and referees.

Student Orientation and Academic Development

  • Organizing orientation programs for newly admitted graduate students regarding academic and research regulations.
  • Planning and overseeing research workshops related to thesis development.
  • Planning and coordinating educational workshops for postgraduate students.
