Introduction to the Education Development Office (EDO)
The Education Development Office (EDO) of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery plays a key role in promoting the quality of education, supporting academic innovation, and enhancing teaching and learning processes within the faculty. Operating under the supervision of the Vice Dean for Education, the EDO contributes to the continuous improvement of educational programs through evidence-based planning, faculty development, and systematic evaluation.
The office works closely with academic departments, faculty members, and students to strengthen educational effectiveness, encourage modern teaching approaches, and support the development of learner-centered academic environments. It also serves as a platform for advancing educational scholarship and improving the overall quality of nursing and midwifery education in alignment with the mission of the university.
Duties and Responsibilities of the EDO
The Education Development Office is responsible for supporting the advancement of educational quality and innovation across the faculty. Its main duties and responsibilities include:
1. Educational Quality Improvement
- Promoting continuous improvement in teaching and learning processes
- Supporting quality assurance in academic programs and educational activities
- Assisting in the evaluation and enhancement of educational outcomes
2. Faculty Development
- Organizing workshops and training programs on teaching methods, assessment, and curriculum development
- Supporting faculty members in improving pedagogical skills and educational performance
- Encouraging the adoption of innovative and student-centered teaching strategies
3. Curriculum Support and Educational Innovation
- Assisting academic departments in curriculum review and revision
- Supporting the integration of new educational approaches and learning technologies
- Promoting alignment between educational content, learning objectives, and assessment methods
4. Educational Evaluation
- Supporting the design and implementation of evaluation systems for courses, instructors, and programs
- Collecting and analyzing educational feedback from students and faculty members
- Contributing to the use of evaluation results for academic decision-making and quality improvement
5. Educational Research and Scholarship
- Encouraging educational research in nursing and midwifery education
- Supporting projects related to teaching effectiveness, curriculum innovation, and student learning
- Promoting scholarly activities in the field of health professions education
6. Student-Centered Learning Support
- Promoting educational practices that improve student engagement and academic success
- Supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ learning experiences
- Contributing to the development of interactive and supportive learning environments
7. Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborating with the Vice Dean for Education, academic departments, and other university educational units
- Facilitating communication and coordination in matters related to educational development
- Participating in faculty-wide and university-level educational improvement initiatives
