Lake Kew

The area of the lake is about seven hectares and its depth varies between three and seven meters in different places. Q in the Lori dialect of Khorramabad people means blue and dark blue; The reason for the name of the lake is because of its color when it is full of water. In these periods, the water of the lake takes on a blue color due to its clarity and the presence of plant species in it. In addition to its impressive beauty, this lake is also a suitable habitat for aquatic animals, native and migratory birds.

Kew Lake usually dries up every year in the fall season and at the end of the winter season, it naturally and spontaneously fills with water. The water of this lake is supplied from Sarab Q, the springs in Mahmelkoh and the springs at the bottom of the lake. Currently, Khorram Abad municipality has transferred the water of the permanent source of Golestan, which is located under the Flak-A-Flak Castle, in order to make the Q lake permanent.
